We admitted that we were powerless over our addictions and compulsive behaviors, that we had lost control of our lives.

We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could bring us to our senses.

We have decided to put our lives and our will in God's hands.

We have fearlessly taken a thorough moral inventory of ourselves.

We have confessed to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

We were quite ready for God to remove all these faults.

We humbly asked him to remove our deficiencies.

We made a list of all the people we had wronged and agreed to make amends to each of them.

To the extent possible, we have righted our wrongs directly against these individuals, unless we would harm them or others.

We pursued our personal inventory and quickly acknowledged our wrongs as soon as we discovered them.

We have sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, asking him only to know his will for us and to give us the strength to carry it out.

Having experienced a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we then tried to transmit this message to others and to put these principles into practice in all areas of our lives.
